French music pioneer Jean-Michel Jarre to headline ADE at AFAS Live!
This year, ADE celebrates its 30th anniversary, and it will be marked in grand style with electronic music legend Jean-Michel Jarre at AFAS Live! His exclusive show OXYGÈNE & BEYOND celebrates not only 30 years of ADE but also 50(!) years of his iconic album Oxygène.
Jean-Michel Jarre
Jarre is a French legend of electronic music, who rose to fame in 1976 with the album Oxygène, which sold millions of copies worldwide and is still regarded as a milestone in electronic music. He is known for his massive live shows featuring lasers and lights at iconic locations around the world, blending music with technology and visual art. With dozens of albums to his name, he continues to inspire generations of artists with his innovative and immersive performances.
“Electronic music, like ADE, has history, heritage, and a future. With the live show in Amsterdam, we’re celebrating both the 30th anniversary of Amsterdam Dance Event and the 50th anniversary of Oxygène. I want to keep the excitement alive, moving from one track to the next, each with a new atmosphere, new stage design, and massive new projections and light-and-video architectures, to create moments that stay in your heart and mind for the rest of your life – that’s why I’m so thrilled to be part of this celebration in 2026.” - Jean-Michel Jarre

Instead of ten synthesizers and modulators, Jarre has kept up with the times, swapping them for a handful of iPads, with the occasional keyboard here and there. There’s no comparison needed; the fact remains that the maestro of contemporary music can still captivate a full house. Jean-Michel Jarre rightfully deserves to be called the Godfather of Music. - Maxazine
That’s where the legendary Laser Harp makes its return, allowing Jarre to create melodies by interrupting the beams of light. It’s precisely this blend of retro and futuristic elements that makes a concert by this man still endlessly captivating, even forty years after his breakthrough. - Lust For Life Magazine
