Lizzy McAlpine
On March 26, 2027, Lizzy McAlpine will perform at AFAS Live in Amsterdam. Her international tour, which takes her to Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Europe and North America, will also bring the American singer-songwriter, producer and actress to the Netherlands. The world tour is in support of her new album Angel, which was released last Friday.
Lizzy McAlpine’s concert at AFAS Live on March 26, 2027 marks a return to the venue where she played a sold-out show in October 2024. The setting is a fitting one for her latest and fourth album, Angel, which was released last Friday and has received positive reviews. The album was recorded and produced over a period of nearly two years in and around Los Angeles, together with longtime collaborators Mason Stoops and Taylor Mackall. Angel marks a clear musical expansion for McAlpine, with influences ranging from 1970s Laurel Canyon folk, such as Joni Mitchell and Carole King, to 21st-century indie. Written during a period of deep self-exploration, the album chronicles McAlpine’s journey back to herself through themes of love, heartbreak and the power of community and friendship.
Give Me a Minute
Elizabeth Catherine McAlpine, better known as Lizzy McAlpine, was born on September 21, 1999, in a suburb of Philadelphia in the United States. As a teenager, she began posting covers and original songs on YouTube and SoundCloud and went on to study at the renowned Berklee College of Music. In 2020, she released her debut album Give Me a Minute, which she wrote while studying in Spain. The album immediately established her distinctive sound, combining introspective lyrics with elements of folk, pop and indie. It quickly caught the attention of critics and went on to receive millions of streams.
Her second album, five seconds flat (2022), debuted at number five on the US chart. The song Ceilings from the album went viral on TikTok and has since accumulated nearly one billion streams on Spotify alone. The accompanying tour took her around the world, including a sold-out performance at Tolhuistuin in Amsterdam. Her third album, Older (2024), brought her worldwide success, charting in numerous countries from New Zealand to Belgium. It also brought her to AFAS Live for a sold-out concert as part of an extensive international tour featuring sold-out shows around the world.
