The concert on 27 May 2026 at AFAS Live is part of Dermot Kennedy’s biggest tour to date and marks a return to the venue where he last performed in 2023 during the Sonder Tour. The Dubliner, known for his passionate and immersive live shows, will also visit 10 other countries, including Germany, France, Belgium, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. He will perform songs from his yet-to-be-released third album. Kennedy has already proven he can fill large venues, with previous performances at the O2 Arena in London and Madison Square Garden in New York.

Street Musician

Born in 1991, Dermot Joseph Kennedy honed his skills as a singer-songwriter on the streets. As a street musician, he blends hip-hop with folk, pop, and soul to create his own unique style. He frequently performed on the famous Grafton Street in Dublin, his then-home, and in Boston. During his time in Dublin, he met Glen Hansard of The Frames and The Swell Season. The two became friends, and Hansard invited the young Kennedy to open for his concerts. When Kennedy released the song An Evening I Will Not Forget on Spotify in 2015, it quickly gained traction. He soon toured the U.S., Australia, and Europe, playing sold-out venues. He has performed at major U.S. festivals such as Coachella, South by Southwest, and Lollapalooza. In the Netherlands, he appeared in the Alpha Tent at Lowlands, the festival’s largest stage.

Top 2000

Kennedy achieved international breakthrough in 2019 with Power Over Me, the first single from his debut album. His debut album, Without Fear, was released in October 2019 and included multiple hit singles: Power Over Me, Outnumbered, and Giants. It became the fastest-selling album of the year in Ireland, achieving gold status in New Zealand, Poland, and Denmark, and platinum in Canada, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. His second album, Sonder, was released in November 2022 and included hit singles such as Better Days, Something to Someone, and Kiss Me. That same year, he also performed at Pinkpop. Kennedy counts Taylor Swift and Shawn Mendes among his fans and has amassed over 4 billion streams. Better Days, the favorite song of Instagrammer Eva Hermans-Kroot, who passed away from lung cancer in November 2024, reached number six in the Top 2000 at the end of last year.
