A Worry-Free Concert Experience: AFAS Live and Libresse Make Menstrual Products Freely Available

13 July 2026

A night out should be all about the music, the experience, and having fun without worrying about your period. However, research by Libresse¹ shows that half of all women+ have felt uncomfortable at a large event because of their menstruation. That is why Libresse and AFAS Live are joining forces to provide free menstrual products for the next two years. With this initiative, AFAS Live becomes one of the first large-scale concert venues in the Netherlands to offer these products free of charge. Tork supports the partnership with specially designed menstrual product dispensers, giving visitors easy access to the products throughout the year. Together, the three partners are committed to breaking down barriers surrounding menstruation and creating a more carefree experience for everyone attending events.

Following the successful introduction of the Libresse Refresh Spot at Pinkpop Festival last year, and its return this year and next, the partnership is now also coming to AFAS Live. This collaboration reflects the shared ambition of Libresse and AFAS Live to elevate hospitality and provide visitors with a more carefree and comfortable event experience.

Dorothée Vanderbroeck, Senior Brand Manager at Libresse:"At Libresse, we believe that your period should never stand in the way of enjoying yourself—especially when you're out at an event. The positive impact of our Refresh Spot at Pinkpop was a real confirmation that making menstrual products easily accessible, alongside providing a welcoming space to freshen up, truly makes a difference. That experience has strengthened our ambition to make menstrual products a normal and accessible part of more public venues. Together with AFAS Live, we're now taking the next step."

A Worry-Free Concert Experience

Whether a visitor gets their period unexpectedly, has forgotten to bring a menstrual product, or simply wants the reassurance of having one available, menstrual products are now provided free of charge whenever they are needed. The dispensers, which are available in the restrooms at AFAS Live starting today, are supplied by Tork. Research² shows that the quality of restroom facilities has a significant impact on the overall visitor experience. Access to essential products, such as menstrual products, helps create a more comfortable, inclusive, and worry-free visit.

Ineke van den Bemt, Regional Segment Marketing Manager at Tork: "Menstrual products should be considered an essential amenity, just like soap and toilet paper. Together with Libresse’s products and our specially designed dispenser, we are making these products available in a hygienic and convenient way in high-traffic restroom facilities, such as those at AFAS Live." said Ineke van den Bemt, Regional Segment Marketing Manager at Tork.

In addition to providing free menstrual products in all women's and accessible restrooms, the restroom facilities on the ground floor and first floor will receive a complete Libresse makeover. Designed in the brand's signature style, these spaces will not only be functional but also create a welcoming, familiar, and empowering environment for visitors.

Rick Gemser, Commercial Director at AFAS Live: "Over the past few years, AFAS Live has increasingly invested in facilities that enhance hospitality for all our visitors. Our partnership with Libresse is a natural extension of that ambition. By making menstrual products readily available exactly where they are needed, we aim to remove barriers and ensure that every concertgoer can fully enjoy their live music experience."

A New Standard

With the introduction of free menstrual products in the restrooms at AFAS Live, Libresse, AFAS Live, and Tork are demonstrating that these products should be just as readily available as any other essential restroom amenity. For Libresse and Tork, this partnership serves as an example of how venues can make menstrual products easily accessible. Together, Libresse, AFAS Live, and Tork hope to inspire other organizations to provide free menstrual products as well, helping to normalize menstruation and make public spaces more inclusive for everyone.
