White Lies have today announced details of a series of UK and European shows in early 2026, including a date at London’s prestigious Roundhouse. To mark the occasion, the band have also released a brand new track, ‘Nothing On Me’, their first new music since 2022’s As I Try Not To Fall Apart.

The track is born from a synth sequence in an off-beat time signature to the rest of the band – a technique influenced by the 70s prog rock the band listened to extensively during the making process, from Genesis, Chris Squire, Yes, Utopia and Gong. The rhythm is a motorik beat borrowed from krautrock, a style that recurs frequently in White Lies’ work. The guitar melody is almost jaunty and absurdist, like a nursery rhyme or something you hear from an ice cream van – inspired by Steve Hillage and his album Motivation Radio. It all adds up to a cacophony of information that confuses and overwhelms.

The lyrics reflect the difficulties people can experience in connecting with loved ones – especially during arguments or disagreements – and how intense that can feel. The song was developed during rehearsals with Seth Evans (formerly of Black Midi) on keys and then recorded live in the studio. The basis of this song is a live take.

Since their debut To Lose My Life… in 2009, White Lies have become one of the UK’s best-known guitar bands. Their last two albums have brought them multiple sold-out shows at venues including Brixton Academy and Hammersmith Apollo in London. Over the past decade, the band have also established themselves internationally, with sold-out tours in Europe and beyond, including a sold-out show at the Pepsi Center in Mexico City in 2023.
