Lorde
Today, New Zealand alt-pop icon Lorde announced her Ultrasound tour across North America and Europe. The tour kicks off in September and will visit iconic venues around the globe. In the Netherlands, Nilüfer Yanya will be the opening act.
The announcement follows news of her highly anticipated new album Virgin, set for release on June 27, and the drop of her new single “What Was That”, co-produced by Lorde, Jim-E Stack, and Dan Nigro. The track has been praised for its raw energy and emotional immediacy, offering a first glimpse into the musical direction of the upcoming album.
About Lorde:
Lorde is a Grammy Award-winning artist known for her genre-defying sound, introspective lyrics, and striking creative vision. Since her breakthrough with debut album Pure Heroine in 2013, she has redefined the boundaries of modern pop music — combining poetic storytelling with minimalist, emotionally charged production. This has earned her 18 billion streams and 18 million albums sold worldwide.
In April 2025, Lorde made her return with “What Was That”, her first new release in four years. The single was met with critical acclaim, debuting at #1 on Spotify US — her first #1 there since “Royals.” It also reached #3 in the UK and #5 globally, reaffirming her position at the top of the pop music landscape.
